About us
What we do?

Solvemate is a tech company from Berlin that is making customer support fast, painless, and cost-effective. Our platform lets companies train a virtual agent to integrate on their site or in their app.

Customers interact with it through a series of quick multiple choice questions. With Solvemate, requests are solved in just twelve seconds on average. Thanks to machine learning, the virtual agent also gets smarter over time: By understanding common requests, it anticipates the correct response.

Support request are dealt with automatically, around the clock, and at scale—resulting in faster response times, happier customers, and much lower costs.

Why work with us?

First and foremost: The people. You are spending a lot of time with your peers.  You should deeply align with our culture deck and understand why it is important that we have made it that explicit. We are truly working in an atmosphere of transparency, candour and teamwork mixed with some curiosity - all committed to achieve our long-term big hairy audacious goal.

In addition to working with great colleagues: You can shape the future of a product that makes both the service better for consumers and jobs better for service agents. Be part of our growth story. We’re onto something and would like to take you on the journey.

For sure, we also offer competitive pay, flexible working hours, team lunches and team events, offsites, and all the other cool amenities that a young high-tech company has to serve.

We are looking for people who are driven by collaboration and finding simple but effective solutions for the challenges our customers experience. As Product Designer you are an essential part of the product team. You will be working in a cross-functional team – side by side with Engineers and Product Managers.

We are working with the Lean UX framework – a designer driven process – so you should bring great project management, great communication and – of course – great design skills to the table.

Your Job

  • Responsible for a holistic user experience design for our two core products – the backend for our customers and our widget for the end-users (customers of our customers).
  • Work collaboratively in a cross-functional team, together with engineers, different stakeholders and (mainly) with your product manager.
  • Responsible for finding practical solutions to specific challenges of our customers. Furthermore you’ll orchestrate the sum of these solutions to a great user experience across the whole product.
  • Generate low fidelity mockups to discuss potential solution approaches and transfer the final solution to high fidelity mockups and clickable prototypes.
  • Another hat you’ll wear is to test possible solution approaches with real users.
  • Besides the day-to-day business of solving customer challenges in a creative and practical way, you’re also defining the design strategy of our products.

Your qualifications

We are not specifically looking for someone with 10+ years experience in product design, but rather for someone who is an excellent problem solver, has an eye and ❤️ for details and who is striving to constantly improve the product as well as their own skillset.

That being said, here are some skills, which you should bring to the table:

  • great in both disciplines – interaction design (UX) and interface design (UI)
  • constantly learning new skills and tools

  • communicating & iterating solution ideas using low fidelity mockups and prototypes
  • transfering low fidelity ideas to high fidelity deliverables

User Testing

  • in love with testing solution ideas with real users
  • you know the tools to do so

  • great collaborator and communicator
  • effective decision maker
  • team success over personal ego boost

  • you understand the business challenges of our and our customers’ business
  • you’re capable of finding solutions for these challenges
  • you are fluent in English and German
